So I've lately been trying gelatinbrain, but I have a problem. On some puzzles, there are multiple types of turns that can be made. For example, the Dogic can turn a single vertex OR one face. So I tried to solve the Dogic, but I could only turn the vertices. No matter where I hovered, only the vertices would become highlighted and the faces never did. Is there some key I have to press to switch between turns?

Ahh, sorry. I was being stupid and didn't notice the instructions. xD

anyway, I have a few other questions for those of you who are really into gelatinbrain. I'd like to get into it myself but I'm having trouble. I tried to figure out the 10-color Dogic intuitively and failed miserably. So, do you guys solve all of the puzzles intuitively? How long does it generally take you? I didn't spend much time before I gave up. Which ones are the easiest? Which ones are the hardest? Thanks alot.

It really depends on the puzzle. I've never actually gotten around to solving the dogic, but I generally just try to solve in one of these ways.

1. Reduce to another puzzle
2. Solve all of one type of piece, then all of another
3. Go face by face, generally solving all of one type of a piece and then another
4. Directly solve it.

My suggestion is to go one piece at a time, and think about how what you do affects other pieces. Obviously all puzzles are different, but I usually try to do whatever I can intuitively and then use commutators with setup moves.

Edit:
Puzzles that I don't think are particularly difficult:
Pretty much everything that exists in real life
1.1.1b
1.1.2
1.1.3
1.1.9
1.1.11
1.1.12
1.2.1
1.4.1 (after solving 3.3.1)
1.3.4 (after solving 1.2.2)
2.2.1
2.2.2
2.2.11
2.2.11b
2.2.14 (after solving 2.2.2)
3.2.4
3.2.7
3.4.2 (this has a parity which is annoyingly difficult)
3.4.5 (after 3.4.2)
4.2.1
4.2.2
4.2.6
5.1.1
5.1.2
5.1.3

You should be able to tell which ones are hard without too much effort

Thanks, I'll be sure to try those. I appreciate your help.

EDIT: So I've been working on one for a little over 20 minutes. I forget its number but it's the one that looks like a megaminx but you twist the vertices instead of faces. I don't know how to solve a megaminx, so I just started playing with it. I have almost half the puzzle done (one face is complete, five others just have one edge to insert).

Edit 2: And of course, my parents make me go to bed before I've finished. >:(

What do I do now? I solved most of it intuitively until there were about 6 pieces left to fix. I tried to fix them with commutaters and got this far but I can't figure out a 3-edge cycle. I've been experimenting with it for quite a while. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Nevermind, I solved it. It took me 731 moves and 1:24.04. Whew, that was hard...
