first two layers vs last layer

just did my first breakdown with OH (or any kind of breakdown, for that matter) and WOW my last layer is way worse than i realized.

average of twelve came out to be 22.27, which is definitely one of my better averages of 12. i guess focusing on the breakdowns helped me cube without worrying about the average.

this is cross + f2l vs oll + pll.

well... apparently you use quite a different method from me so i'm not sure how applicable those numbers are to mine. however, i thank you for your valuable input.

Well, I'd say improve on your PLL, for sure, the times for your last layer (I admit it) aren't to great. But remember, practice makes perfect.

argh, i didn't put OH in the title. none of the hardcore OH-only people are gonna peek in the thread! any way to edit a title, guys?

I'm a hardcore OH guy. I hope.

My f2l is a bit slower that other hardcore OH people but my LL is a bit faster because most of my PLLs are U perms. On average I think I have like a 4-5 second LL. Favorable COLLs give me like 3 second.

hmmm... if you have a 3-5 second last layer, the difference between you and me is almost entirely in the last layer. that can't be right!

maybe you should try doing a breakdown? i thought i was in the 6-7 range for last layer, but i turned out to be almost 9 in an average of 12.

if it is the case that you're usually 4-5 seconds no the last layer, i guess my pll and oll algs REALLY need some work?

2.42, 6.71, 4.84, 4.72, 3.11, 4.68, 4.26, 3.34, 3.17, 2.82, 4.27, 6.19 = 4.14 for ll

The 2.42 and the 3.11 were PLL skips. There were 8 U perms and 2 Z perms. The two 6s were bad COLL cases. The ll cases I got were generally favorable.



I have never used OLL in my entire life so I can't tell you how fast it should be or how fast it can be. Hopefully more people will comment. I think PLL should be under 2.5 if you are very well practiced.
