Ive been speedcubing since December and now im going to the Minnesota Open 2007 in Rochester.

Anyone else going? Or have some tips? I average 34.5 secs using Fridrich.

Try to be as relaxed as possible. That is the most important thing to getting good times, comparable to ones you get at home. This may mean getting out in public and cubing, so you get used to people watching.

Oh, and don't +2 anything. They hurt your average badly, since it's only average out of 3 (drops fastest and slowest).

Corwin is 100% right.

If your cube pops: assemble it. Maybe you get a worse time later and then that time counts instead of being discarded. NEVER do a DNF

(Except your cube EXPLODES during OH as it happened to me... About 10-14 pieces popped out...)

Im more of a "for fun" type of guy seeing as im not going to be exactly at the top of the world come competition time.

However, I would actually like to have a sub 15 average in a couple of years. That would be cool.

I am also a "for fun" type of guy and as you can see by the amount of competitions I have been to you can guess how much fun I had.

For some reason I even win some things once in a while, eventhough I don't think I am good enough to do that.

My "trophies" so far:
Italian Open 2007: Won Magic
Lyon Open 2007: Won 2x2x2
Czech Open 2007: National Record for Multiple Blind
Polish Open 2007: National Record for Fewest Moves
