Finding First 2 edges on 4x4

Is there a strategy for finding the first 2 pairs of edges on the 4x4? I pair my edges 2 at a time using E Slices, but I lose 10 seconds on these 2 edges alone when I can't find them.

Go slow during the centers so you can look ahead for the edge pairs.

One problem that I had was switching pieces to look for. I would look at a piece- blue/yellow and search for the other, after a second or two I automatically thought that the other piece was hard to find, so I would switch to another piece-green/white and I looked for that. This might just be my personal problem, but I started say the pieces colors out loud, and that made it much quicker. I eventually grew out of this problem. Just always look for one specific piece and don't switch(under normal circumstances) because the piece can't be far.

haha for a couple of times i keep looking for a certain piece but realized the two pieces are already paired up, it was really frustrating

look on the left or right side of the cube (on the L or R ring and find the edge that matches them you can choose top or bottom wing

Don't look for two edges, just look for one.

Look at what's at UFr, and find its complement.
