here are some of my recent 3x3 solves.. plz watch them

1. it was a pll skip, could have been a little bit faster as i used U3 as AUF

2. it was non-lucky

3 it was non-lucky too

I usually get sub (20,19,18,17) solves every 3rd or 4th solve just like the above solves.. my average varies between 19 to 22 seconds.. and i have been stuck at this average for some amount of time.. i mainly require some tips that you can think of after watching the videos...it will help me improving further..

I'm exactly where you are, so I may not be the best one to help. It seems to me that you have a huge gap between your first and 2nd pair on your 2nd and 3rd solve and possibly your first too. Just take a lot of solve videos, and see where you tend to have the pauses. Then, consciously focus on looking ahead at those parts.

it is helpful.. thanx.. i took 9-10 videos ranging from 17 to 27 secs and yeah there is a large gap between 2nd and 3rd pair.. and it is there in almost each solve.. now i have got something that i should work upon.. :)

I also took an average of 12 for [cross + F2L].. it came 14.92 secs with min of 11.96 and max of 17.09.. one more info if it helps that i know 34/57 olls and 19/21 plls (Leave N perms, i know them but take 6 secs to apply).. should i start learning the rest of the olls & plls now or after some time when i'll be faster??

Maybe you could try my strategy for solving?

I average 17 on the 3x3 and i get a few 14-15 solves every now and then.

My strategy is to completely ignore look ahead and let my instinct do the work.
The cases and algorithms are ingrained in my muscle memory and the 3x3 takes next to no mental effort on my part. I simply focus on making my fingers move as fast as possible.

AAAAHH!!! A Nakaji-wannabe! (to the person above me)

At your point, I would practise F2L like crazy, until it's about 12-13 seconds, so you can get sub-20 constantly. Then, you can choose. You can either keep practising F2L, but I would start practising my last layer, learning all the OLL's, and finishing off the N-perms. Work on recognition on the last layer, normally the orientation of the edges is already clear if you track them through the last pair, and you can easily track 2 or 3 corners as well. If you master this there shouldn't be delays between the F2L and OLL. While you are finishing the OLL look for blocks that are arising, so you have minimum delay between OLL and PLL. Also, do PLL time attacks.

When you can do your LL sub-5 go back to your F2L and practise it to sub-10 and learn some special tricks, VHF2L, multislotting, etc.
