Fastest Way To Do A Cross Permutation

That is one of my quickest algs, and I think one of the quickest for most. When I do it, I do an L2 turn and at the same time I an doing an r2 so I am kind of doing both a half each and then I grab the middle slice with my left hand and bring it to the top, at the same time I am positioning my right index finger to do the U move, and so on. It is hard to explain. For U2, I use two fingers, my index and middle finger and makes U2 go extremely quick, almost quicker than a U move itself, haha. Good luck.

 I'm trying to visualize how you do it but I'm drawing a blank, lol. I was thinking of turning R and L at the same time as you do but when I tried it i could'nt get it properly done. Maybe I'm missing something. I really need some help.

The way I do it now is I hold L with my thumb and index finger and R with my thumb and middle finger and use my right hand's index finger to turn M and then I reposition my hands to do U and repeat.

Do an M move as r R' or M2 as r2 R2'. Or with the L side, depending on which way you prefer. Then trigger the U with the left hand index while you do L2 l2. Do you are really doing L2 l2 U L2 l2 U2 L2 l2 U L2 l2 .

Ryan Zheng does this so fast...his best solves are sub-1.

There are three ways to do this. The easy way, PJK has already mentioned. The intermediate way is done like: L'MR'. Basically, you do L', while simutaneously do M with your left middle and R'.

The hard way is to trigger M twice with ring and then middle. Bob Burton has a pretty good video of this technique: http://www.cubewhiz.com/videos/pll/pll05fast.avi

It's hard to get used to, but it is really fast when you get it right.

Hello,

I do the 'normal' algorithm, but a somewhat different trick to do M2. M2 is done like this: r (R' M')

1. r (lowercase)
2. place left midde finger on the BD edge stickers
3. Do R' and M' at the same time. M' is done by pulling with the left middle finger.

Might look a bit complicated, but I managed to do that H permutation 5 times in 6.99 seconds with this fingertrick, including picking up the cube. See a video:
