since space age i've been playing some factorio again. the problem is I like to prematurely optimize (the root of all evil) so playing takes many hours.
somehow none of the other games capture the look and feel of factorio.

I am new to these types of games, what are the goals/missions in such video games?
I can speak for myself on shapez 2 at least...
you receive a request for a certain amount of a determined shape, like a circle.
then you must build conveyor belts to make circles go from point A to point B
but shapes get more and more complex and you have to use different machines like cutters, rotators, stackers, painters, and even logic gates later in the game.
It involves planning, logistics and a little of programming.
is really involving and I can't help but spend hours on the game every day.

at the point of the game I am, I have almost all logic machines there is, so I can build simple programs and algorithms.
I want to see what kind of stuff I can make. is a little like a sandbox game in some sense. you can escape from the objetives and not be penalized for it
@abunickabhi this is the trailer of the video:

here you can see wires and gates in action on shapez 2:

I'm yet to play factorio, I noticed there is a downloadable demo, I'll try it soon. I don't like the graphics tho : P

I think shapez 1 & 2 resembles cubing a lot, specially if you think about the alg sheets for a lot of puzzles, like 2x2, megaminx, pyraminx etc.

and to deliver shapes you have to make simple operations like rotations, cutting, swapping, etc.

there are lots of concepts that are familiar to a lot of us.

also check this app that let's you generate a form using text (actually it's the official "notation" for describing the different shapez)

I've been playing Shapez 2 a lot lately and I'm loving it!

do you enjoy games like:

Fatorio
Satisfactory
Infinifactory
Shapez 1
Dyson Sphere Program
Mindustry

or any other?

Factorio was the first game on Steam that i amassed over a hundred hours on. I'm yet to buy Space Age but i've gotten most of the base game achievements.

I recently finished my first 300spm base with, surprisingly, no major bottlenecks.

I haven't really tried any circuit controlled stuff or advanced train things but I think i'll wait until i'm in the mood to torture myself.

I finished Vulcanus and landed on Fulgora which has a unique recycling gimmick. But I've not been motivated to keep building. Vulcanus is basically easy mode.

Yes, I think it fleshes out some parts of the game and introduces new mechanics. I just got tired of playing it after making a Nauvis base, going to Vulcanus, making a Vulcanus base, and now starting over on Fulgora
I finally bought it!

On a different note, I recently finished my final base before Space Age-

The main bus is almost too big to screenshot

I was initially aiming for 1000spm and then I realised that I'm not a masochist and so I went for a humble 600spm, which I achieved.
