Definitely intuition. Less than two weeks ago, my average solve time was 90 secs. Over the last two weeks, I really worked hard on F2L and learned 15/21 PLLs, which dropped my time to 60-70 secs (depending on the day). Tonight I learned 2L OLL and my average is about 55 secs now. You can definitely learn full Fridrich much quicker than a couple of years if you really want to. A lot of the PLLs use the same triggers and stuff and once you learn those, the algs are pretty much cake. I learned 2-3 per day when I was trying, then I'd take a day to just practice them and recognition. Now I'm working on F2L more and my cross time (I usually solve cross in 8-12 moves...pretty bad). You can do it! Use intuition. Earlier tonight, actually, I was looking at the F2L algs and I found that I actually was USING them in intuitive solves anyway. It's much better to know them intuitively than just learning them, imo.

I voted algorithmic because I felt like it.

edit: it doesn't matter. Either way is OK. I think it was Kirjava who said "Eventually what is algorithmic becomes intuitive and what is intuitive becomes algorithmic"

I know only one algorithm for F2L. If the edge is correct, and the corner is in the top layer with white (or your first layer colour) facing up, I use R U R' U' R U R' U' R U R'. For everything else, I use intuitive. Learn from Badmephisto.
