F-II out of box adjustments?

I recently got my F-II. It is the best cube out of box so far compared to previous ones I have (A-III, Edison, type D, storebought), but it has the potential to be so much better.

Unlike the Edison cube which is so tight when it arrives that it can hardly be used, the F-II is the opposite, too loose! But too loose is better than too tight as I feel there is a lot of margin for adjustments.

My main problem with it is overshooting. It is so loose and fast that I sometimes have to make turning changes to align it which wastes time (even with the adjustments it is still often as fast as my old cubes!). Also it is so fast that my lookahead has to catch up with it but that is my problem.

Also I found I have the greatest problem with those perms that requires regripping: eg N perm, F perm, G perm. During regripping, I often cause the layers to misalign cos they are so loose, and have to align them back.

Do you find F-II too loose out of box and has to tighten tension (the screws are already quite tight)? Or you use it at this condition but adjust your cubing style to prevent overshooting?

I am going to try both.

yes it is slightly too fast i would tighten mine too but atm its not causing too much trouble with my times... its the color recognition and the fact its stickers not tiles thats ruining my times lol

I got my f2 a month ago. It was great out of the box. Then, the colours started wearing out and the cube started to get less awesome. i didn't cube with it for like 2-3 weeks. Later since i had nothing to do, i tightened it till 1/2 a turn to the end and i put a lot of silicone spray in it. Now it works better than when i first got it but the stickers became worse. The blue side has completely turned white. Hopefully my cubesmith order arrives soon.

haha same here... i couldnt tell between blue and white anymore... i ended up just takein the blue stickers off so now i got a black side. i should really order some more stickers tho... i dont wanna get used to the black. funny how something like that can ruin your look ahead... i keep looking for blue even tho i know its not there

It's odd that some of you are complaining that it's too fast, since many of the people who prefer the A5 do so because they think the F2 isn't fast enough.

If it's tight enough that you aren't popping, why not give yourself a chance to adjust to and learn to love the extra speed over your old cube?
