I recently switched from the reduction method to yau for 4x4 and right now I average around 3 minutes. However, I can't decide whether to use 3-2-3 or 6-2 edge pairing. Which one has more potential to be faster? And please explain your answer because I did some solves and counted the number of moves it took for edge pairing and they were roughly the same. Please help!

I prefere 6-2. You know, it is not always a pure case of 6-2 or 3-2-3. With all the special cases it is better for me to start with 6 and correct for special case during this stage( sometimes it is 5, sometimes you bump onto opposite pair..), then i always get left with 2 or 3 or nothing, depends.

To add a bit to the above answers: from my experience, 6-2 is faster when there are no bad cases. However, bad cases come up quite a lot, and are slower to solve than the bad cases in 3-2-3. Hence 3-2-3 will usually give you a faster average, but you can get some very fast singles with 6-2.
