My F2l is stuck at 13-18 seconds. Does it help to make an F2L cube(with first two layers only) and practice F2L on it?

I tried it. I would say no. It makes recognition a lot easier- unrealistically easier. You don't have to 'filter' out the LL pieces which is important in a real solve.

I've tried an F2L cube and it pretty much ended up the way hawkmp4 described.

Just tough it out; getting good at F2L is the hardest part of Fridrich imo, but it must be done.

I did about 100 F2L solves on the f2l cube and it was too easy. I think I just need to work on my look ahead much more, but thank you all for your opinions:)

It helped me a lot and my recognition was really fast. But when I went back to a normal cube, the LL cubies screwed up my recognition and I made even more errors than before.

Now I have the LL face (previously yellow) as black on my black cube so it is almost like I have "half an F2L only cube".
