I'm thinking about getting a couple of em and was wondering if they are good cube's to get. I've seen the reviews of all 3x3's but paid looked at the dian sheng's a little bit more. Does anyone have one and how is it?

I have a mini DS, its very good. If its the same as the version without the odd cubies, then I assume the larger versions would be good as well.

The problem is that these cubes don't have constant quality. I bought two of them for me and a friend. Mine is good, it turns well even without lubing, but the other one was really bad.
A general problem is that some of the colors don't differ clearly enough from each other and the painted color will come off with time. But of course you can fix this by putting stickers on it.
So if you have luck you can get a really fast cube, but I wouldn't recommend to buy it.

Well I guess the only way to find out is to get one and see how it turns out.:D

empty > You are dealing with little one right ?

I didn't notice that on reglar sized ones.

No i think mine is a regular sized (Mini DS is 45mm? mine is bigger ^^). I don't want to say that they are bad, because i know that they can be really fast. But since I've got DIY Cubes I don't use my DS anymore.

To clarify, Cube4you sells both the painted and the stickered ones. The stickered ones are the ones that are shown without any packaging and are very good in my experience.

I got a painted one, incredibly cheap, about 4$. I've heard about the bad-or-good thing, I've played with around 10 of them, never had a bad one, although the sticker thing is absolutely true, get some stickers WITH the cube is my suggestion. The corner caps tend to pop after a while, but only been an issue on a few cubes.

Just check the springs when you get them, make sure they're flat, beyond that, pretty good cubes. they are much LOUDER than any other cube i've used though...

I have mini and regular Dian Shengs. The regular sized one is very light and moves with almost a feather touch. I tighten it nearly all the way, so it cuts corners slightly without locking up. I bring a regular Diansheng or lubed storebought to public places because they are less likely to pop by strangers. The stickers on the DS do not last long, so have some Cubesmith stickers ready.

I actually say put the cubesmith on as soon as you get one. Just because Red and Orange are switched which in my opinion is more confusing then Japanese color scheme and the shades of red and orange look almost identical.

I own 2 mini Dian Sheng 3x3 cubes. I ordered a second one as the painted sides on the first one is just about gone. They are really good products. And very cheap too.
