Most of my friends already know how to make the colors on a cube checkered, or any eye popping design. Anyone know a alg for any interesting design on the cube?

I can read basic notation easily. Yes i am addicted and i just started cubing 2 weeks ago, it is not sad. I don't understand this -(+dl) (16l,16f*,18q*)?
My fault i clearly did not state what i don't comprehend.
