Denver Open 2008 - January 5th & 6th, 2008

[pjk]

We are looking to setup a competition in Denver, Colorado on January 5th and 6th of 2008, although that can changed if more people can make it at other times. As of now, we want to see who is interested and would most likely be able to come. Please post if you would be able to make it, and what dates would be best.

Gar! Denver is too far from Florida.

[Karthik]

And way too far from India

I don't think I will make it to that competition. There is only so much travelling a cuber (even I) can do. Sorry.

I hope to see all of you at Worlds though!

How long would it be? Seeing from Richard's reply, I would imagine a good 7 hours or so...

I can probably come, and it'd be better on the 5th, since I have school on the 7th. (I found a reasonably cheap flight, but I'd end up flying overnight on the trip back, and thus Sunday as a buffer would be nice...)

Also, would the venue be far from the airport? ;P

Well, we haven't worked out any details for anything, just seeing how much interest there is. On TP, Mike Gr. brought up the temperature. That is a factor. Come to think of it, people may not want to travel much after Christmas break, plus it will be very cold. We may want to move it to a couple months later. Everything is still in the air right now, as we haven't set any details. As far as length, no idea. DIA is a pretty good distance from Denver, about the same as from O'Hare to downtime Chicago, maybe a little more. I may be able to hook you up when the time comes around, we will see. Just seeing who would be interested.

Normally I would recommend against organising anything so soon after christmas/new years eve, but there was a pretty succesful competition this year very early..............

I would have to say, that I would love to come, more so for the travel experience ... and possibly bring my mom along ... she'd love Colorado!!

If I could spark an interest in her, I'd go for it But then again she doesn't like to fly

[Toojdwin]

Too far away from Texas for me to go
