When you say tensioning, do you mean loosinging? If not loosen the puzzle some. It may just be that your preferred tensions are too tight to have the cube cut 45%.

Lube will help it corner cut, so I would try putting in some lube. On the SCS side of lube: Martian or Galaxy. On the Cubicle side: DNM-37, Lubicle-1, or Lubicle Silk. I haven't tried Lubicle Silk before, so I can't say the exact results it will give. I use SpeedCubeShop Cosmic Lube often, and it works really well, so if you haven't used any before, then you should try it sometime! But like @Duncan Bannon said, your tensions could be way too tight, so keep that in mind 
I have tried tightening and loosening too, none of have worked.
My tensions are further on the loose side, however I've tried tightening it and that won't work. I'm really now sure. I would think that would work. My last 2 "ideas" are first off make sure you know what 45% is. It sounds silly, but just make sure. Secondly are you sure that it is a GTS2? Where did you get it from?
I'm 100% sure it is a weilong gts v2. The box had everything normal that a real one should come with. I got it from a store called taobao, but mind you the seller was very well trusted in selling normal weilongs and had great reviews. As for the last part I know what a 45 corner cut is.
