I've had my type A for a while now, and it has never been any good. It's always felt really rough and sticky, even on it's loosest setting. You can see the wear on the stickers of me using the cube.
Finally I decided to examine the cube to see what the problem was and found these;

These scratches are in the actual platic and are really deep, and rubbing my fingernail over them makes a horrible scratching noise. Looking at the cube closer I can't find any reason why this would have happened as there are no noticable raised bumps or dirt in the cube.
Originally I thought this would have been part of the breaking-in process but the scratches has almost made the cube unusable. No amount of lubing or tensioning makes the slightest difference.
Has anybody else ever had this problem? Do I need to cube with it more to break it in? :confused:
