Today David broke his PB average twice, and also one of his PB average was a World Record. He got 6.34 second average in sq-1 which is world record.
He also nearly missed out on beating his PR single of 5.24 seconds, getting 5.32 and 5.40 singles in round 1 and round 2 respectively, at Solving in Sale 2021 WCA competition in Australia.
The previous record was by a Brazilian teenager, Vicenzo Guerino Cecchini who did a 6.54 second average in sq-1 way back in 2019. Note, in that WR average Vicenzo DNFed the 5th solve which made the 7 second solve in the average counting. The average could be been easily much faster if not for the DNF on the last solve. Sadly, he did not compete officially in sq-1 after that WR average attempt which he set in the comp in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
He previously broke the sq-1 OcRs just 2 months back, https://www.speedsolving.com/thread...1-single-and-7-39-seconds-sq-1-average.79577/, where he got his 3rd and 4th continental record. Today he got his first world record, and hopefully one of the many to come. Hope to see him compete more, and produce more fast, creative and efficient solves in sq-1!
