Cubing nicknames

Even if you're absolutely awful, if you go to the competitions dressed as a ninja, you'll earn the nickname "The Cubing Ninja" pretty easily. As long as you keep it up, it'll be great. Never break character.

Yeah, James Bond :)

You don't really get a nickname by being fast, as much as by calling yourself something or acting a certain way. If you want a nickname the best way to start is to take something unique about you and put it out in the open. For example I know of a few people who are not fast but are well-known for their bizarre color scheme, or their unconventional solving style, or their demeanor.

Or you could just have a unique or funny username and go by that all the time. I'm sure a few people out there know me more as qqwref than as my actual name.

Hmm, where's Purple? I've seen him on this forum!

Haha, they call the 3x3 the professor cube? (It's so tiny!) What's the 5x5 then?

I guess it got that name because "Rubiks cube" has a bad ring to it in our tounge. We do that a lot in Denmark, quite a few movies has some really badly translated titles.

I don't think the 4x4 and 5x5 made it to Denmark, so people always go bananas when I show them around :) (can't wait to show the 7x7)
