Cubing Hot Takes, Opinions, and more!

Lol definitely not. In fact, your argument is actually an argument against your statement. Since fewer people possess the skill set necessary, you have to beat way fewer people to get top 100 in MBLD.
See it like this: imagine if one person in the world was a speedcuber, and everybody in the world played chess competitively. With your reasoning, it would be harder to beat the speedcuber at speedcubing than to beat everybody else in the world at chess, because the skill set for speedcubing would be much less common. However, that is quite unlikely to be the case, because if you have only 1 speedcuber in the world, that person is probably not sub 5 or something, whereas if everyone plays chess, there are probably some absurdly good people in there.

Another fun comparison:
The person with MBLD WR100 has a MBLD kinch of 37.38, and the person with 3x3 average WR100 has a 3x3 kinch of 70.00, almost twice as high.
Just wanted to add my two cents: top 100 in MBLD is easier because much fewer people are willing to seriously practice it compared to 3x3

your consistent ao1000 should be how you measure your global average. I made the mistake of using consistent ao100s, and thought i was a second faster than i really was. switch to ao1000 people.

I don’t do nearly enough solves for Ao1000 to be accurate

exactly, stop resetting sessions. Do it all in one session. Along with letting you measure longer averages, it lets you keep track of pbs much easier. I am at around 48,000 solves in my current session.

I don’t do nearly enough solves for the last 1000 to be accurate to my current average

non-magnetic big cubes seem outrageous to me because I can't turn a big cube (other than 4x4) well enough when it doesn't have magnets. I would like to understand your perspective.
I cant turn on even a magnetic 4x4 sometimes, it just feels too catchy (like the magnets are too strong or layered)
I don't like a catch on big cubes, because it hitches the flow of 90% of solves ive done with magnetic 4 or bigger
its just my personal preference, but I do think its better

hmm. I think that magnets are less important on 4x4 but more important the larger it gets, just for control.
