Another weird thing about America. Me as a 17 year old is not allowed to learn to use a firearm ( Totally obeyed that law ) and yet I can join any branch in the military with parental permission and get any job I want.

In my school, it's almost impossible to not see someone cubing and the teachers don't even care. I'm 90% confident that I'm the fastest in my school as most people I see uses either the beginner method, beginner CFOP or the method in the pamphlet (I cringe at this method so much). The fastest person I know other than me averages about 25 and knows some OLL and PLL.

Funny, I am cubing in school right now. I'm in seventh grade and I think I may have found a sixth grader who is a cuber.
Worst experience was probably in health class, it was *that unit* and I decided to cube instead of paying attention.
The teacher took my 3x3
I pulled out my 5x5
The teacher took my 5x5
I took out my pyraminx
The teacher took my pyraminx
I took out my 6x6
The teacher took my 6x6
I took out my megaminx
The teacher started screaming and going insane

My friend that I don't know now but I did when I was in school, had a very similar thing that happend but it continued all the way up to 9x9 and started with the Pyraminx.

Some kid at my school said he was sub-30 with CFOP using a Rubik's brand. I watched him do a solve and he skipped multiple obvious F2L pairs but ended up getting on OLL skip, which he said was a mistake and then solved the cube with roux

That's exactly what people say when I bring cubes to school lol. They are like "Strange, where is the Rubik's logo?" And when I tell them it's not Rubik's, they tell me not to buy off-brand cubes (such as the Tornado V2) from suspicious websites (such as Speedcubeshop) because they are not "official"

I used to solve using Petrus method at school. This was the pre-zhanchi days. I used to be slow and I can blame my Rubik's brand cube for that which I used from 2008-2013.
