Trig is fun. Don't know (and don't need to until grade 11) the mnemonic or how to derive it from a triangle, I focus more on where to use it. What's the point of knowing how to get the sine of an angle if you don't know how to use that value?

I use trig in programming, mainly in games where I have to do some shenanigans to calculate the angle that an enemy should move to follow the player, and then get the cosine and since to find the velocity in the x and y axes. I also like drawing circles in code by individually computing all the points and then drawing lines between for cool spirographs.

I made this which just draws a shape with a certain amount of points until it becomes a circle. And this which you can play around with! (Oh yeah, this too). Yeah, I really like playing around with trig and circles to make a bunch of these. That's pretty much the only branch of math I like though. Algebra is fun, but I prefer applying things to the real world

For those really into math, note that this thread exists.

Have you ever played with Geogebra? You can make all kinds of animations in there.

Hey, just surveying to see if there’d be any interest in making a study group for those of us math majors in college. (or simply making an online group discussion for all of us math lovers, as it feels a bit weird to have this on the main page of SS)

I’m also potentially open to tutoring people online in middle/upper high school or 100-level college math classes if anyone is interested in that as well.

I'm an engineering major, if that counts. I am about to start my first day of pre-calculus and trigonometry tomorrow and I would be interested in a study group.

I’m taking my Precalculus midterm exam tomorrow so wish me luck guys (I’m gonna need it lmao 🤣 🤞)

Awesome! If you ever need some help, I'm totally willing to in my free time (which I don't have much of to be fair lol). I've taken Calc 2 and I'm taking Linear Algebra and Proofs & Abstract Math this semester, so just DM me whenever you need some help.

Haven't looked at math higher than basic elementary school +, -, x and / since I graduated from high school. I did get a perfect score on my geometry SOL when I was in high school though. A friend and I had a bet to see who could get the higher score. We both spent 8 hours on the test and I beat him by two points.
