I just got my cube4you DIY in the mail today, it's the first DIY i've had and I can't seem to get it adjusted right so it doesn't pop a ridiculous amount, if I tighten it a whole lot it's way too tight and hard to turn. Any suggestions?
I haven't lubed it yet, and I don't know how much that will make a difference with the tension issue.

Any feedback is appreciated!

thanks

lubing it will make it so much better. the same thing happened with my type c. i assembled it and was extremely disappointed with the quality. i tightened it to the point where it wouldnt pop every solve, and it was not that good. but after lubing, it turned great, and it is still at the same tension

try lubing first, tighten to the max, and loosen like 1/4 to 1/2 of a turn... maybe more if neccesarry.

lube it!!!!
both of mine never pop, and turn great. they are by far the best cubes that i have. I lubed one with crc and one with shock oil

just make sure all the sides of the screw are equal, when you pull the center, they should all have about the same length

Pestvic's method is sound, but I find that it leaves my cube way too tight for fast finger tricks. I need to back off each face something like 1.5 to full turns each from his "unpoppable" point. Yes, my cube pops sometimes, but that's the price of having a fast cube. Best of luck!

Brian.

1. What type cube do you have?
2. Lube. Especially if it's not a white cube.
3. Set it really really loose. When I first went to my first competition. Everyone else's cubes were 1000 times faster and seem to pop 5 times each solve for me. I lubed my cube, set it just as loose as theirs, endured a week of nonstop popping and now I don't pop even on very loose cubes.

I had the same problem: One of my cubes used to pop a lot and I didn't know what to do... You should 'play around' with the cube at different tension, AFTER lubing it! If it still turns very hard with no pops, don't just lube the core, but put some lube on the 'internal things which touch each other' (hope you understand, what I mean... :O)

That should help

It's the cube for you brand diy no specific type. Thanks for all the suggestions I lubed it and it feels better, I'm gonna loosen it and learn how to not pop it everytime I think. Just play around until I get it broken it.

Thanks again everyone!

-Ryan
