Cube Battling!!!!

I challenged my friends to full solves. It seems mre fun. I have 4-5 cubing friends at school, all averaging above 1 min.

Only my brother and I average sub 1.
Me: 20 sec
Brother: Around 45 sec. (He's too stubborn to learn OLL's and PLL's. He uses some Fridrch.)

I don't really have any friends around me that cube... this sounds too frustrating anyway. So I wouldn't really want to do that. But is can get a little boring just sitting at the computer solving my cubes all by myself :p

wow, this sounds like an awesome idea. unfortunately, no one i know can solve the cube. though i'm in the process of teaching a 9 year old from my church how to solve it.

i wonder if there is a way to battle bld

Sure! You can talk and say "up front" and stuff while you are both solving. Just don't mess yourself up. That'd be super confusing. If the guy is using numbers to memorize it'd be especially deadly. A journey or roman rooms would be harder to disrupt.

A variation for those that don't have anyone else to compete against:

1) Scramble the cube
2) Do X moves that try to solve the cube
3) Close your eyes, randomly rotate the cube (a small toss works well), do U, repeat X-2 times (so you "re-scramble" with X-1 moves)
4) GoTo 2

A higher value for X gives a different experience and requires more skill than a lower value.
