i know this must been brought up a couple of times, but pls tell me where i shld put my cross when doing f2l.. i'm more inclined towards finger tricks, but when i try cross on left my delays in between each c/e get massive. but if cross on bottom, theres less finger tricks but more vision...

i always used to do cross on top so i developed a wide array of finger tricks for it... mainly since U and U' are really fast as opposed to D and D'. End result being that when I make crosses now I usually start with cross on U, and mid-way i switch to cross on D while solving the last or 1 or 2 edges to get the look-ahead. Maybe that's an alternative you might wanna explore as well :)
Between Left and Bottom though, I'd put it on the bottom... There's a couple of people I know though that do it on the left and are quite satisfied, but all the best speed-cubers do it on the bottom... maybe its not a coincidence :)

I am pretty certain Ryan Patricio and Lars Vandenbergh solve on left, Leyan Lo definitely solves on left...

yeah...the main reason I decided to start doing cross on left was b/c of Leyan's success

cross on left perfectly satisfies me, looking ahead is helped by some double layer turns and looking at edges in the right layer. I do however do some cross on left for one handed, as some of the finger tricks are better for certain situations. I even switch between left and bottom in the middle of an algorithm sometimes, just b/c it's more comfortable.

the problem is my left fingers are not very agile... those doing cross on left, do u have problems looking ahead?

sht man i juz took 2 average of 12 f2ls only for cross left / bot. heres the result:
left : 11.92 and 11.80 = 11.86 average
bottom:11.12 and 11.76 = 11.44 average

the diff is juz 0.4 seconds leh. HOW

on the left is the more "natural way"(i heard this somewhere), obviously u can get fast either on the left or on the bottom, it shouldn't matter too much.

I've just yesterday decided to change my cross on the F2L from left to buttom. The reason being that I took up the advice to practise using a metronome and quickly found out that when looking ahead my right hand kept getting in the way. It might work for others with the cross on the left but I don't think I can find a better way to look ahead than doing F2l with the cross on the buttom.
