ok so I've been thinking about this cool way to get the last 4 edges on big cubes and really it only ALLWAYS works on a 4x4 (which I have tested and yes it does) but basically once you have stored 8 edges and all your centers are mixed (kinda) you arange the edges in those 4 slots in the middle layers so that by fixing the centers, the edges become fixed! I'll try to get a vid up but not sure if i'll be able to.

Tell me what you think, It really is an intuitive thing, but I think with practice you could get it pretty fast.

EDIT: :fp I spelled four the wrong way in the title... I feel dumb.

You cannot always solve the last 4 edges this way. You could almost always guarantee that you will get 1 edge, I usually try to, but not necessarily.

yeah just playing around a little more with it i found out it isn't allways possible.

pretty much if you have one or more edges already solved it isn't possible, but with a few moves it becomes possible. so you can make it possible pretty easy.

If you want to work on this, the best thing you can do is to try to get it to work for one edge as much as possible. Then the last three you will just have to slug through.

Im in no way good at speed solving large cubes, but i do this sometimes when playing with the bigger cubes. It seems like one of those methods that's great to have some knowledge about so when the easy or somewhat obvious cases arise you can solve them with less hassle.
