Cool patterns

R B L R' F R - E - R' F' R L' B' R'

Btw, this alg is 13 moves (counting E as 1 move)... Can anyone see how to do the SAME thing in 11? I'd be impressed :).
Why do you count E as 1 move but L R' and R L' as 2 moves? If you're using STM then just writing those as slices would give 11 moves.

F R' F' R2 U' B' R B R2 U

That one is rather finger-trick friendly. How fast can you do it?
Tried about 10 times, best ones were 1.31 and 1.35.

That reminds me of another pattern:

R B L R' F R - E - R' F' R L' B' R'

Btw, this alg is 13 moves (counting E as 1 move)... Can anyone see how to do the SAME thing in 11? I'd be impressed :).

M2 U M2 U2 M2 U M2 z' E2 M E2 M' (11)

Does that work for you ;)

No, that is a different pattern than R B L R' F R - E - R' F' R L' B' R'. On yours, the colors on one face are opposite, while the colors on one face of my pattern are NOT opposite colors. :)

L R U2 L' R' y' L R U2 L' R'

Hello guys,

Not sure if this is the right sub-forum, but I was just fooling around with my cube today, and I found some cool and speedy algorithms for interesting patterns

Pattern 1
Imagecube:
imagecube.php

Step 1, swap (UF UB) and (DL DR), using D M2 D2 M2 D
Step 2, flip 4 columns, using ((RUR'F')*3 U2 D2)*2

I thought the 4 column flip is pretty cool and easy with all those repeating moves.

Pattern 2
Imagecube:
imagecube.php

R'F'R y' [ RU'R'U' RUR'F' RUR'U' R'FR ] y R' F' R L F2 L'

The part between brackets is the pseudo-15-move-Y-perm that people use for solving the corners with Pochmann's BLD method.

Anyone else here who likes creating patterns?

Hi Joel. The first pattern i guess you learnt from me in Orlando 2005 :D I have a faster 23-move alg for that:

F' D' - R F2 R' F U2 F' R F2 R' - L B2 L' B U2 B' L B2 L' - D F' B2

The second pattern - the imagecube does not match the sequence given. Or am i doing something wrong ????

Also see the BIG TP pattern thread:
