I've been trying to get sub-1:40 lately but I can't do it... here's the best I could do.

Rough splits (note that 3x3-5x5 are no inspection):
2x2 - 3.5
3x3 - 12.5
4x4 - 33
5x5 - 52.5

I've been updating my website a bit recently, so there are a bunch of qCube versions there, and you can find them at http://mzrg.com/js/. This one is at http://mzrg.com/js/qcube-relay.html if you'd like to try it yourself.

So does understanding the way your sim displays the cube come naturally to you? Because when I look at it, it's like a bunch of colors, and even though I *get* what square corresponds to what sticker of what cubie, I would find it incredibly difficult to keep track of everything, maintain lookahead, etc...

Is it easy for you? (This is awesome, btw)

Dan: I'm working on a Chrome version of the qCube sims right now - I got some browser detection code and I'm modifying them so they should work properly with both Firefox and Chrome.

Just practice. The first couple of days it was really confusing; by now it's no problem at all.

You are insane. I really want to see what Faz could get on a 2-5 relay. Possibly sub 1:50?
Well, the sum of his WCA record averages is 1:52.80, so if he could perform at that level and inspect everything properly he should be able to sub-1:50 occasionally.

That's really cool.

On a related note, is there a reason why computer cubes aren't official events? It seems like it would be a less dexterity-oriented event, and much more about the mental aspects of cubing. Could be interesting, although I assume qq would dominate.

It would just be hard to hold. You'd have to be able to prove that the sim hadn't been tampered with (I guess this could be done by having the WCA host any sims people want to use), and you'd have to let people bring their own computers/keyboards (which would cause problems of its own). Plus, I don't think we really need the extra events.

Seeing this made me think that we need a good computer cube UWR page (kinda like how we have the MultiBLD UWR page). Methinks it could help get more people to try computer cubing. Making unofficial computer cubing more widespread would be a good enough alternative to actually making it official, which as qq said, wouldnt work well.

Anyway, that relay is incredible qq, I had difficulty getting my jaw back up after I saw the thread title
