Introducing https://comp-kinch.sylvermyst.com

It's a small web app that displays KinchRanks for individual competitions. This idea has been in the making for a few years, but I finally had the energy to follow through with it. I'm not the first person to create something like this, and there was an old site that worked with CubeComps, but nothing that worked with WCA Live that I know of.

This works using public endpoints of the WCA API, and the WCIF format, which is the same system that WCA Live uses to sync results. So it should work with any competition that has results on WCA Live as long as the delegate or organiser synchronises the results from WCA Live.

If you have any suggestions or improvements, you can submit an issue on Github.

Hope you enjoy!

I've made a few updates, the most significant being that it can now pull official results for competitions which means that you can now view Kinch rankings for all competitions that have official results posted, not just those that use WCA Live. For example, World Champs 2015.

Thanks everyone for the feedback and support!

It's working now on a computer. Maybe the problem was that i was using a phone.
It should work fine on a phone. It's written using React, which means that if Javacript fails to load for any reason, you can get a plain white screen.

Hi - just wanted to make a request: currently for 3/4/5bld it's choosing between single and mean to assign the max of the two scores, same as regular Kinchranks. This should be changed to single only.

The regular rankings still make sense to some extent (if there's some depth of competition in the region, both single and mean NRs/CRs are going to be competitive relative to each other given enough time - the person with the fastest single generally ends up with the fastest mean or at least close, making it a somewhat accurate measurement of skill to look for means as well).

However, if we're assigning overall all rounding score at a competition, then we should take into consideration the fact that the winner of the competition for the event is going to be assigned by single and not mean - and also the normalization that happens in rankings over time is not happening at an individual competition since there's only 1 or 2 or 3 rounds. For instance, the winner getting a 20 3bld single but no mean gets a 100, but if the only person in the round that gets a mean is the sixth place finisher with a 2:00.00 mean, they get a 100 as well. These two should not be getting the same score.

Just pointing this out because in India we actually use the sylvermyst website to give out all-rounding awards at every competition and we've had this exact scenario play out a few times.

I agree with arquilian that blind events should be changed to single only.

Multiblind kinch scoring system is good as it is, as mean is not officially recognized score and also less comps have 3 attempts.
