Clock World Championship 2025 Podium has been changed...

Personally, I know I don't have much of a say, but just as a general perspective from the outside world, it's simple:

The rules/regulations were not written to prevent an issue; therefore should not be forced onto a competitor unwillingly.

In this case, the competition wasn't running as smoothly as planned, and the request to check was denied. That, on its own, should be more than enough of a reason not to penalize the world champion for his win, but rather to revise the regulations for the future.

The other thing I see here is that the competition was again not running smoothly. I'd chalk this up to just the large size of the competition, but this should not be an excuse to refuse to check an average that won the World finals.

What I think they should do:

Reverse the decision and let Antoni be the World Champion. None of the issues were his fault, and he himself even tried to ensure his average was correct. His being denied that chance, which it was later revealed that there was a mistake in the scramble, would cost him the win. Just because CubingUSA paid all 3 the $1,000 (which I still think wasn't a bad decision, it's been difficult), doesn't mean that the whole issue is resolved. His title was taken from him based on regulations that are simply dumb.

The WRC and WAC should take a step back and look at what turmoil this decision is causing, and learn from their mistakes. They need to resolve this issue fast, because we can't keep having this drama in the community.
While we should uphold the regulations, this is one of the few times an exception can and should be made.

For 2026 regulation changes, they should really take a look at these regulations and then revise them based on these events, and ensure we don't have another several-month-long debate/fight over them yet again.
