Clock Musings (Brilliant Advice for Speed-Solving in General, but Especially Clock))

Question 1.

Two truths and one lie:

I solved a Megaminx before ever solving a 3x3.

I couldn’t solve 3x3 at my first competition.

You main 5BLD (You don’t count, @abunickabhi)
I don't main 5BLD, so you saying that as a certainty is lying.

Question 2.

Present the name of the nation who's flag is described below. You may not use outside sources, or I will steal three of your cubes.

Red atop green, with a yellow star located at its center

It is not 🇨🇿

No idea, so Turkey, I know it's wrong, but it's red with a star somewhat close to the center, so I'm close (not really).
Question 3.

How do you think you will perform on this exam? Write answer in the form of a number between 1 and 10 rounded to the nearest one decimal.
4.3
Question 4.

How long can you stare at an analog clock for? If you do not have access to one, stare at a coin of greater value than 7 US cents. Write answer in the form of a number between 1 and 10, rounded to one decimal.
8.6, this reminds me of Fermi problems.
Question 5.

What number am I thinking of? Write answer in the form of a number between 1 and 10, rounded to the one decimal.
3.1, and since you read this, it was in your mind and you were thinking of it.
You will receive ONE (1) additional point if you write your answers on a piece of blue or purple paper. Whoever has the highest score wins a prize which I have yet to decide upon.
I will flip a coin to decide if I write it on blue or purple paper, which I will have to go find, and I don't want to (heads, I'll do it). You have no way of knowing if I did it or not unless I tell you.

Edit: It was heads. :( I have paper with a printed diagram of skewb, with blue, so I'll write them in the blue section.

Congratulations, you win!

The answer to Question #2 was….drumroll please….

**Drum noises**

Burkina Faso! 🇧🇫

As for your prize, you win…being the theme of the next post!

“Wow! That’s such a neat and unique opportunity. Thank you, @Clock_Enthusiast!”

You will get zero further context.

I have returned to this thread to grant @sDLfj their award and prize. Here are three wonderfully interesting facts regarding the life of @sDLfj.

1. They are ranked #1670 for 7x7 in North America.

2. Birds aren’t real, so @sDLfj unfortunately doesn’t have a PFP like most other users.

3. This is an acronym I’ve constructed:

s ometimes the
D uck
L ikes to
f solve

j clock

Good morning, good evening, and goodnight my Rubricking pals,

I have come to spread my plethora of wisdom upon this website. You are welcome in advance.

1. For every two clocks, there is one SQ-1

2. If Margaret has 3 QiYi Clocks and Jackson has 4 YJ Square-1s, then Jackson is a nerd.

3. I have a really good algorithm: U2 R L’ U’ R2 D’ L D R’ U2

Good night (12:12 AM as I type this very line) speedcubers and speedsolvers,

I hope you’ve had a wonderful day filled with the sun and vitamin D; I sure haven’t.

1. I want to attempt drawing a Rubik’s Clock out of bacteria. If I create said artwork, it will become visually available on speedsolving.com.

Joke(s) of the Day 🤣

1. What do you call it when between 6 and 8 clock solvers enter a building? A 7-Arrival.

2. Excluding leap years of the Gregorian calendar, there are typically 321 calendar days in one year.

3. Knock Knock

You: Who’s there?

Joke #4

4. The State of Delaware.

Hello my clock-loving comrades and compatriots,

The time has come for my inevitable return, and my mission is to conduct lighthearted reconnaissance on my forum pals.

@JDAW6 : Who is the eminem of speedcubing?

@sDLfj : Are you still practicing clock? (Yes is the only valid answer)

@Arcanist : What is your 8th favorite element?

@SkewbIsTheBestEvent : Skewb will be removed in 18 days 2 hours 4 minutes and 6.21 seconds

My 8th favorite element is probably germanium for its use before silicon in things like transistors.

Good evening everyone,

I've come to present a new whimsical and puzzling challenge game. Whoever best completes this challenge will win a prize of my very own selection.

The Prompt

Write a 48 word poem or rap about the Rubik's Clock.

No more and no fewer than 48 words. I will check all individual entries no less than thrice.

Also, here's an acorn squash that I drew earlier when I was bored.

Tick-tock, Rubik's Clock, twist and turn,
Align the hands, watch and learn.
Two faces, nine dials,
make 'em sync,

Puzzle challenge, think, don't blink.
Rubik's Clock, gears align,
Solve the puzzle, beat the time.
Tick-tock, dials spin,
Rubik's Clock, let’s begin.

Show your skill, conquer the thrill
