I've just started Clock and use the Beginner method, starting with cross. The situation where all of your top cross edges are pointing in the same direction is obviously very lucky, I think the chances are 1 in 1728. Despite only having 85 solves in my session, this has happened to me 5 times(including one cross skip, which doesn't mean much though). Could this be linked to misscrambling- does misscrambling make solves luckier? Or might there be a pattern of misscrambling that leads to this?

I mean just make sure when you are scrambling you do the x2 rotation in the middle of the scramble to scramble the back side as well, because if you don't do it, then you will have a solved cross. You should also check the scramble just in case to make sure it is scrambled correctly. If you did those things correctly and you didn't misscramble then go buy a lottery ticket (Or if you are not 18 then ask your parents to).

Is it an x2 rotation or a y2 rotation? And you know what this might be what's causing it! I've often been scrambling when I realised that I forgot to do the rotation. I'll do some tests to see if that's what causing it and if it is I'll discount my PBs(my single will go from 8 to 11, but at least it's legit)

If you’re turning dials around up pins, then you’ll never disrupt the other side’s cross, hence why the rotation to the other side is required
