Whats your sucess rate at the moment?View attachment 26320
Current 7-Simul stats (from a new session--I'm at around 1,500 solves total). I have DNFd out of several potential sub-5 averages now, but success will happen very soon.
Like 66%, which isn't great. It's gone up significantly in the last few days since I started focusing more on accuracy though, so I expect it to rise to at least 75% soonWhats your sucess rate at the moment?
Only 100 and you have 66%? That's even more impressive haha.66% is still impressive, mine is just under that and I've only done around 100 solves.
Thank you!Only 100 and you have 66%? That's even more impressive haha.
Good luck!Goals for my upcoming comp
So, I've essentially only practiced 7-Simul for the last month and a half with some megaminx, pyraminx, and 5x5 sprinkled in. It goes without saying, my cubing skills are a complete mess at the moment, particularly in the realm of 3x3. I haven't competed since Mid-Atlantic Championship, so my nerves are pretty bad.
I'm making the potentially rash decision to debut 7-Simul officially. I have two rounds of clock, so I can safety the first round if I absolutely have to. I'm most worried about going over memo time and DNFing. Even with flip, I check both sides for the remainder of a non-final rounds if I get a DNF partway through the average.
My 7-Simul memo time is ~11-13 seconds, so it's really cutting it close. I'll see how doing a 7-Simul solve feels, and if it's absolutely not going to work, I'll use flip for the remainder of the round. I'm not risking the rare chance I get to compete DNFing my main event. That being said, I still have faith that I could pull off a good average with 7-Simul if I don't over-warm-up or put too much pressure on myself. I'm trying to start attending comps for fun, and not to solely evaluate them on the sheer basis of results.
Without further ado, here are my events and goals:
2x2: PR average and single. Single is hard to predict with 2x2 as a very fast event. I wold like to get a sub-4 average soon, as I consistently get sub-4 averages at home.
3x3: Just make round 2 with something sub-18. PR would still be very cool.
4x4: PR single and average. MAKE CUTOFF. I have multiple 5x5 and 7x7 averages/means but no 4x4 average. It's about time.
Pyraminx: PR average and possibly single. Again, single is difficult to predict with fast events.
Megaminx: PR Average (Sub-1:30) and possibly PR single. I've been practicing a lot of mega, and I average sub-1:30 very consistently at home.
Clock: WR single, WR average (sub-2, preferably). Nah jk, that's for next year. It's about time I beat my 5.75 average. I got that so long ago, and I can do FAR better. I choke my averages for the most part, but NOT this time. We will see some immaculately executed 7-Simul solves.
Thank you! I’ve been practicing as much as I can, given how busy my days can be.I know this isn't really on topic for you, but as someone just doing beginner method, what are some tips for learning 7-Simul?
Also, great job! You're doing great with these times
