Finally decided to give these forums a shot. As for me? I am Duncan. (/u/KiltedWhiteGuy)

I am a 21 year old lab technician that specializes in asphalt emulsions. I know that means nothing to most people but it's basically just some chemistry with enough downtime to start a hobby.

I started cubing in the summer of 2014 during my 3rd shift days at work and instantly got addicted. I've since realized I'll never be as fast as I'd like to be (sub 20 is my best ao100) but I can at least do what I can to learn as much as possible. My goal is to learn all methods possible for the 3x3. Maybe not all the algs but at least know each method enough to explain it and solve it. Other big hobby is YouTube consisting of gaming and cubing (REV Gaming if anyone cares). Other things to note, I have a 2 month old daughter, 21 year old fiancee, and love to do giveaways.

Post some comments about methods I should learn and some links to help learning them! Oh! And my current main is the WeiLong GTS and I look forward to talking more with everyone.

Which methods do you know already? Also, if you weren't already aware, there's a competition in Durham at Duke University next weekend that you might want to attend, and I could show you some methods there.

I know CFOP, Roux, Petrus, and ZZ.

I did everything possible to make it but it's the ONE weekend in the year I can't make it. Fiancee has family coming from Texas and I can't seem to get out of it long enough to make it a trip.

Well those are the main methods, and to be honest, although others will tell you different, most of the other methods out there are combinations of these 4. So what I'm going to mention will hopefully be different enough that it doesn't feel like you're re-hashing through what you already know.

PCMS: A type of columns first method. Basically you only solve f2l pairs, ignoring centers and cross, then do CMLL, and finish the edges.

Heise: An algorithm free method that is extremely efficient but not great for speedsolving. Useful if you want to get decent at FMC. Might need some familiarity with commutators.

Corners first: Arguably the oldest speedsolving method. Forums user ettafah (sp?) recently posted how he does it using EG from 2x2 and then solves two edges at a time, which I think is very intriguing but unexplored.
