I've had an issue with the reaction score. People celebrate their reaction score too much (like 1.7k reaction celebration, really?) I think it's little cool that people do that, but please try to minimize it. Also, reactulations. I'm guilty of this, but basically spamming reactions. It takes away from the validity of one's post. Instead, just react if you think the post is good or bad and a counter argument is needed.
Like don't react to this, since it doesn't need a reaction score lol. It's just my opinion since the internet needs more of those (no, no it doesn't).

I'm not the one that celebrated my 1700 RS
But yea, some people react way too much

I wholeheartedly agree with all points made here.
It's definitely fine to celebrate your reaction score, but it's done so often and for such insignificant amounts. Reaction score is a cool reward for long-time, helpful or otherwise important members to show off their value. Farming reaction score or having other people spam you with reaction score (one case excluded) undermines the whole point.

Also literally 99.9% of people do not know or care about reaction score

I agree with this, but I see reactions more as a way to interact with a post without making a useless comment. For example, liking a progression post rather than just saying good job or something similar that can be conveyed with a like, love, or wow, though it can be warranted sometimes. Or to agree with a point instead of leaving a comment that won't add any value by simply agreeing and saying nothing else.
And I would like this post simply to share my agreement with it if I didn't want to make this post, since they both share the same thing, just this post goes into more depth about why.

In my opinion, reactions are definitely good to have. They save a lot of meaningless short posts, and since a lot of discussion here is informal and involves jokes, having reactions such as 'haha' and not just likes is important. I don't think any of the actual reactions should be removed.

However, in my opinion reactions scores should be removed. If this were a forum like the WCA forum where almost all posts are formal contributions to the discussion, reactions score makes sense as a way to measure the quality of posts. However, many reactions here are reactions such as on progression threads, and reaction score no longer serves as a way to measure quality of posts. (People who post a lot of profile posts also have high RS as profile posts count for RS but not posts)

So I think the best thing to do would be to keep reactions and get rid of RS.
