This is completely false. Also, I switched methods for a time from CFOP (averaging 20) to ZZ, and then I switched back to CFOP when I averaged 17 with ZZ. It is completely doable and doesn't take a huge effort, just some time and lots of solves.

I started solving casually November 2013, and until about this time last year was about a minute. It stayed at this point until August when I bought a fangshi. It started dropping because I had more fun solving and could use fingertricks easier. I stopped in November after getting stitches in my thumb, and only recently started back up. My times are at a consistent 22-24 with slow turning f2l. Its all practice. You can do it!

Honestly, if you dont want to learn full oll and pll, at least try to slow down your f2l and try not to have pauses. and practice. Practice. I can not emphasize this enough.
