Can i orientate edges for LL first then solve corners.

In you experience, is this faster?

Learn a 4LLL (4 look last layer)

1. Orient edges using 1 of 2 algs.

2. Orient the corners using 1 of 2 algs.

3. Permute edges using 1 of 4 algs.

4. Permute corners using 1 of 3 algs.

It is possible to use less algs, but it would be faster if you learned all of the algs.

4LLL is slow, yes, but it's a great way to start solving the Last Layer using OLL and PLL. Once you learn the algorithms, you should go down to 3LLL and then finally, 2LLL. Then, make those algorithms really fast and you'll get a really fast LL time!

A lot of people orient the edges first of the last layer. (You might be asking PERMUTING edges). You get the cross then orient the corners.

If you're talking about PERMUTING the edges first, I don't really know. I feel like permuting the corners first but I don't know which one is faster.

I used 13 look on the worst cases as a beginner, lol.
no edge oriented: same alg 3 times
non sune cases: do sune 2 times
V, N, Y, E perms: Niklas sune, niklas sune
Z, H perms: U=(sune, reflection sune,) (sune, reflection sune)
that is 13 looks at the worst case!

4LLL is a lot slower. I lost 15 seconds off my time as soon as I stopped using it.

So did you go to 2LLL or 3LLL. And what is your time now?

I do a 4LLL and I average mid-20's. I don't think changing is going to drop 15 seconds off my time.

then you have a very fast F2L time. what are your seperate F2L and LL times?

What do you mean by if you change it it's not going to drop 15 seconds of your time? Some people can do the last layer (2LLL) in two seconds, and some people can do 4LLL in less than 5 seconds.

Well it's not going to drop 15 seconds of your time immediately (might add 15 seconds because you're getting used to it:D) but with practice, it probably will.

actually no it's not
it's 13 algorithms, not 13 looks. there's a difference

Well, considering I don't spend 15 seconds on LL, I doubt changing will save me 15 seconds. That's why it's pointless for the original poster to state it will save 15 seconds. If he's a 2 minute solver, then yeah, it may save him 15 seconds. But there are better ways to state a drop. For example, if he stated that he switched and his time dropped by 50%.

Yes, look means step. So if you solve the last layer in 2 looks, you solve it in two steps, for example, OLL and then PLL. You can do 2 Look OLL for edge orientation then corner orientation. For 2 Look PLL, it's corner permutation then edge permutation (or vise versa).

i can't tell if you're agreeing with me or not. you're sort of doing both at once. just to be clear, the 'looks' and the amount of algorithms you use to solve the LL aren't the same. sometimes they are (as in 2Look, u use 2 algs), sometimes they're not. for instance if you dont know olls and orient edges first and get a no edge case,
and you decide to execute f (R U R' U') f' F (R U R' U') F' to orient the edges. that's 2 algorithms but one look.
