Calling all Non-Color Neutral People!

lolwutcolorscheme?

Whit cube, black stickers where white should be?

White cube, black stickers where yellow should be.

Oh wow, a different coloured EOline screws me up sooo bad.

yea lol
ZZ + colour neutral = reallly bad times.

I was trying colour neutrality with ZZ a few days ago (after seeing Faz's sub-9 avg of 12). Its not to bad with opposite colour neutrality, since the same EO rules apply. Its kind of nice because all you need to do is look at the four possible line edges and pick wether the U-face or D-face edges make an easier line. Solving F2L with opposite colour neutrality is fairly simple, all you need to do is swap the L and R blocks round.

But full colour neutrality with ZZ? Just madness!

Yea, I can do it with a y2, x2, or z2 rotation, but with total neutrality, it's insane.

I normally do white cross. I tried yellow cross before it is difficult at first but with practice is not too difficult I just reverse the color rotation for the other 4 colors when solving cross. For F2L I need time to get familiar with the yellow bottom but has done sub-30 with it.

However after some time I get lazy and still always do white cross, sometimes settling for longer cross.

Using other color than opposite color for cross is a no-no for me. It will mess up the cross for sure.

I am normally white/yellow opposite but with a different color cross I end up sticking corners in with white/yellow down instead of with the proper color down...

It's funy that I just found out after learning CN that my times aren't getting much worse.. only white I have avg of 20-22sec and with using CN (and not prefering any colors) I have 24-26sec avg.

Hm, I normally do white cross and average around 18 seconds. Just did an average of 50 with a random cross color chosen each time using a six-sided die:

number of times: 50/50
best time: 15.19
worst time: 26.05

current avg5: 18.54 (σ = 1.12)
best avg5: 17.23 (σ = 0.87)

current avg12: 19.41 (σ = 2.63)
best avg12: 18.91 (σ = 1.85)

session avg: 19.93 (σ = 2.27)
session mean: 19.96

17.43[r], 21.03[g], 21.27[r], 21.83[g], 17.51[w], 18.93[g], 19.67[r], 16.93[w], 21.11, 23.38[o], 20.08[y], 18.16[y], 22.29, 18.26[w], 17.49[y], 21.22[g], 26.05[y], 16.92[g], 16.58[w], 21.68[o], 23.27[o], 17.04[w], 20.22[g], 17.32[r], 20.56[w], 19.80[o], 23.19[g], 18.96, 18.64[w], 19.94[y], 19.58[y], 24.34[y], 20.74[o], 20.31[g], 21.00[o], 19.83[o], 20.55[y], 20.19, 20.08[y], 18.71[w], 25.15, 15.19[y], 21.59[o], 16.02[g], 20.82[o], 16.12[w], 17.35, 18.24[w], 20.04[o], 25.27[o]

There aren't a lot of data, so these numbers don't mean a whole lot, but here are the average times for each color:

white: 17.86
yellow: 20.15
orange: 21.58
red: 18.92
green: 19.96
blue: 20.84
not white: 20.48

This would be more meaningful if I did, say, an average of 300.

I'm using roux. At the beginning I was absoluteley non-colour neutral (blue left, white on bottom). Now I already managed to start w/ a block of one of 4 colours (red, green, orange, blue), but I'm still doing white on the bottom. I'll try to learn doing yellow on the bottom. At least for the first block you can save lots of moves with (partial) colour neutrality.
