Hey everybody! :D

I'm new to the forum and I REALLY REALLY love cubing.

I am still learning F2L and am pretty slow at it, and I am yet to get my first sub-30. I just got a new Moyu Aolong v2, and I love it!

Pyraminx Times:
1. 3:43 2. 3:47 3. 5:92 4: 6:19 5: 7:04

2x2 Times: (Ortega)
1. 4:32 2. 4:52 3. 4:73 4: 4:89 5: 5:09

3x3: (Beginning F2L)
1. 30:06 2. 32:32 3. 32:69 4. 34:72 5. 34:75

I love it when non-cubers ask if my thirty-second times are world-records. :o

I like megaminx and enjoy stunning other people by solving it in a few minutes. I also am really into Big Cubes, but not fast enough to compete. Speaking of competitions, I am attending my first competition this weekend. I am really nervous! Wish me luck! :):):)

Uh-Oh! Those 2x2 times are nearly a year old now. Haven't practiced 2x2 for months, my times are around 13 seconds now. :( :( :( :(

Yeah sure! This is my first competition, too. How is the Aolong v2? I heard the turning isn't that great. I'm using my v1, but I have gotten some corner twists.

My Aolong v2 is pretty good. I had to break it in and loosen the tensions a little bit, but it is great. I got it a few hours ago, and have done 100 solves on it already! It has a really nice papery feel to it.

Just got back from the competition. I didn't do great, maybe because I was so nervous. I didn't even start the timer correctly for my first attempt at pyraminx, so my first ever official solve was a DNF. Not exactly a self-esteem booster. For my second solve, Ravi Fernando was the judge. So I totally freaked out during inspection and epically failed at meting the thirty-second cutoff time. I was more surprised than anyone, it was my worst pyraminx time ever!

So I didn't even get an average for the event I was most confident going into. For 2x2, I think my sub-20 average was pretty good, considering I hadn't touched a 2x2 for months and was using an un-modded shengshou. But I did get one DNF from not starting the timer correctly AGAIN.

Then for 3x3, first I tried continued my Timer-Starting-Failing-Streak. I really am going to need to get a stack mat to practice on. Anyway, I also got a corner twist on solve #3, ON MY AOLONG v2. WHAT!

But besides a few flops, I had a great time. One kid brought a suitcase with every cube imaginable in it. 2x2-11x11, megaminx, gigaminx, crazy yileng, 4x4 fisher, etc., etc., etc. I made a few friends and had a lot of fun! ANd I guess that's what it's all about. But of course I want redemption. :p

Well, that's about it. Anybody have advice for beating the nerves?
