Do a 90 degree slice turn, because the way the puzzle is now you can't turn all the layers.

it's like solving a square-1 twice, once for the inner layers and once for the outer layers...

Just do backwards whatever you did to get into that mess.

Or take it apart and put it back together solved (I'm guessing this is kind of what you had in mind when you posted this in the hardware area).
