Hi

ok my english is not the best, but i want to explain my plan: Now i want to try research a method which is easier or faster than the most common methods. I post you two ideas for the start/beginning and my question to you is: is a finishing possible and userful for all scrambles?

Two Rules für our brainstorming
### You can post all perms and ideas. Pls keep the relation of you idea by writting "the Subject" in your answer. The two Subjects have to be not mixed. Also there are commong perms welcome would be known from commong methods.
### the "newer ones" have to be userful for each scramble of a 3x3x3 Cube, but it is NOT important if this is nothing for speedcubers. if you have a faster and a slower perm or "way to solve" please seperate them for the community to understand the different.

die two Subjects (Ideas):
1.) "First all Corners, then all Edges" oder otherwise
(for examble: solved corners such as 2x2x2-methods, an then we try all edges, and so on)

2.) "white and yellow cross at same time" pls try it out
the next step could be solving the E-Layer between U and D such as the Roux Method
and the next step could be to solve all corners how it is explained in the method 8355

2x2x2 "Interchange" Method:
Make a face, like in Ortega, but viewing opposite colors as the same.
White/Yellow
Red/Orange/(purple)
Blue/Green

After this, do OLL, again, viewing opposites as the same.
Then do an "interchange" to make the two faces the same color.
Then do PBL.

I sort of had an idea, not sure if it was proposed before. But you solve the corners first, and then you orient the edges so that it can be completed in only slice moves. I'm looking for a sign to tell if an edge is slice-oriented or not, but this is basically just a fun method.

Another one I've thought of is you get the cross, two F2L pairs adjacent to eachother and have the 3rd pair ready to be inserted (plus an extra corner on the end of the pair), and during insertion you perform an algorithm to orient edges, and then while inserting the fourth pair, you perform an alg to orient and permute the corners, leaving only the fast edge switching algs to be done. If I'm not lazy, I'll figure out how many algorithms total that'd be.
EDIT: I think that it would only be around 50 or less algorithms, but I'm not sure. I thought that it would be around 100 or more.

Your first idea has been done, it is called CF or Corners First. The second idea is called the equator or belt method, I think.

Both of these ideas have already been proposed and were generally decided to be inefficient and cumbersome for lookahead.

You two clearly completely missed the point of the thread. Try again.

Not sure I quite understand what you want, but I'll give it a shot.

Subject 1:
I made a whole list of algorithms for my own CF method over the summer. Unfortunately my hard drive crashed and I lost the data. I used Ortega to get all the corners, then warped Waterman for the edges. I'll get the algorithms up when I get them again.

The method was fast. Surprisingly fast. And extremely useable on every scramble. CF is a great way to use color neutrality for some reason. The edges were pretty easy and recognition quickly got fast.
Steps I took:
1. Orient corners of one color (Intuitive-planned during inspection-fast)
2. Orient the final 4 corners (7 Algorithms-fast)
3. Permute all corners (8 Algorithms-fairly fast)
4. Permute the centers (Intuitive-very fast)
5. Finish 1 face and turn it into the L face (Intuitive-quick)
6. Orient all edges (19 Algorithms-quick)
7. Permute 2 R layer edges (? Algorithms-quick)
8. Permute final R layer edges (? Algorithms-quick)
9. Permute M layer edges (3 Algorithms-instantaneous)

Lots of intuition, less than 100 algs. Step 2 is just OLL. 2 cases in step 6 are also OLLs. You can use PLLs for some cases in steps 7 and 8. Step 9 is the final Roux step.

Subject 2:
Haven't tried it seriously yet. Sounds interesting.
