Black DIY worse than White DIY?

I recently purchased two type A DIYs from cube4you.com. despite the constant reminders that the black DIYs are worse than the white, i decided to try it out and buy one of each. After sanding and lubricating both cubes and getting them to peak performance, i am much more satisfied with my black type a than the white one. Why is it that everyone says that white is better? because it was the opposite for me. Has this happened to anyone else?

Can't tell you, I don't have a white DIY. But I will tell you this, I'm very satisfied with my black DIY (type A).

My white diy is absolutely hopeless.

I use my white center pieces with my black cube. It gives a clackity feeling, but with my pure black, it's more creamy and smooth.

If you had asked this a year ago, everyone would have told you white. It was what everyone repeated again and again.

I've long maintained that colour is not a factor. You may indeed have two cubes of the same model in different colours and notice one performs better than the other. It is not to do with the colour. Assembly, flash etc varies from cube to cube.

Most people prefer white because of the smooth plastic. Some people like the look ahead black cubes give.

I lie - with a very old storebought core and centres the white pieces make for a very good OH cube.

Since when have people said white is better than black? It's always been a matter of preference. Personally, I refuse to buy white cubes.

give white cubes a little cred., sometimes they're actually smoother and lock less, I have no idea why. the V-cubes were better in white [IMO] and the type Ds were too.
