MF8's are good if you glue down the caps. They are a real pain to put in. The corner caps also pop. I'm pretty slow at SQ-1, I get times around 1:45. Maybe you could try clock, because it seems that good SQ-1 solvers are good clock solvers, like David Woner.

wtf ? Square-1 and clock are completely unrelated puzzles. If some people are good at both of them that''s because they have practised both.
