Becoming more consistent in Square-1

I've started getting in to Square-1 again after a little while - however I have serious problem with consistency

As can be seen here:
PB single - 20.25
PB Ao5 - 25.73
PB Ao12 - 30.82
PB Ao 100 - 36.89!

I was wondering if there are any tips to help with becoming more consistent, specifically with getting the cube back to a cube, as that is the part where I am most incosistent.

TIA!

I am maining square-1 currently, and I struggle a lot with consistency, like sometimes I’ll bang out a sub-13 average of 5, then start getting solves over 20 seconds. I dont know what method/cubeshape technique you use, but if you haven’t learned it, watch cube master’s video on intermediate CS where you reduce each shape into scallop/scallop or scallop/kite. Other than that it’s just grinding. Getting parity is obviously another major reason for potential inconsistency, so I started to learn CSP to try and help with this, although I would have been probably better off not doing that.

So to conclude, there’s probably not much you can do at this level, but if you’re interested in picking up full cs, there is a good optimal cubeshape chart that can be found here

The way that I progressed was using this as a reference. You should learn the 3-movers and the 7-mover (possibly the 6-movers but not necessary). All of you 4-5-6-7 movers eventually will pass through a 3-move state meaning that you just have to set up to those states. Many of these cases have symmetry which helps. The central idea is that every n mover is a one move setup into an n-1 mover. It's the same idea as beginner cubeshape but just expands the cases you set up into from 2 to 11 (you can always learn algs for harder cases like the 6-movers).

This is also a good tool to practice cubshape.
