Are these cubes good?

The first just looks like regular DIY that you can get at cube4you, 9puzzles etc only more money. No idea about the second.

Buy from the first one because its comes with tiles and stickers and lube and cube ;D

Hmmm... let's see.... Cube 2 comes with a video demonstration, which I watched. The regular Rubik's cube I just got from Target spins just as well if not better, and I didn't have to pay $7.00 in shipping and/or wait for it to arrive in the mail. I'd scratch Cube 2 if I were you.

Cube 1 is the same DIY you can get from Cube4you for $6.45. It also includes Cubesmith tiles, which you can order directly from Cubesmith for $4.50. They assemble it for you, which has to be worth something - let's call it $5.00 (which is more than generous). I think $15.95 would be a fair and reasonable price for Cube 1 ($6.45+$4.50+$5.00=$15.95). But that cube will cost you $24.43, plus $14.95 shipping from Australia.

It's your money - you work for it, you earn it, and you can give it away to whomever you please. But I think the seller is taking advantage. I don't think you're getting a decent value for your dollar.

The second one, basing this off of the core, is a cube4you diy (b). This is the worst cube I've seen, even worse than store bought cubes. I would just get a cube from someone else. Putting it together and lubing isn't hard to do, and you may find that you like a different tension than what other people like.

Dunno too much about Cube 1 but I can tell you a little more on Cube 2. My friend bought one of those and they seem to be type B cubes. They're not as smooth as the DIYs from cube4you or Puzzleproz. It doesn't cut corners well either. I thought it was kinda tight at first, so I told him he should loosen it a bit. After that, I tried cubing with it, it popped like 3 times during my F2L and so I gave up and didn't want to use it. I think they may be okay after some lube, but it's kinda crappy in my opinion.

but type Bs are good in some people's opinions such as Rama who would prefer type b to anything else sold on the market

i like my type B with A core and D centers. randomly put some crap type D and useless type B together. the result is stunning. it is rather unpoppable and smooth

Why did you dig up this ancient thread to post in? There are plenty of more recent relevant threads discussing DIY types. Please check the date before posting.
