Hello,

I have been following the memory sports world since 2014. Lot of interesting events but none as interesting as the classic 1 hour MBLD. (1 hour cards is fun though)

Anyone here has participated in the memory leagues organised by Johannes Mallow, They are being held online this year, and it is entering towards the finals of season 10.

I am quite active on the Art of Memory Forum where people discuss all the memory ideas for speed cards and names and faces and other events.

FYI, there is a category for blindfold twisty puzzle solving too on the forum, https://forum.artofmemory.com/c/blindfolded-speed-cubing/14

Although active BLDers have not voiced their advice there, but the ideas developed there is pretty neat.

I know that Stanley, Mark and Shivam have tried Speed Cards event. Me and Kabyanil had tried the Memoriad tool way back in 2014, but the interest for memory sports is still a bit less in the cubing community.

Happy Cubing and Happy memorising, L U S' U' L' S' U2 S U' S U' !

Here it is from Wikipedia. Memory sport, sometimes referred to as competitive memory or the mind sport of memory, refers to competitions in which participants attempt to memorize then recall different forms of information, under certain guidelines.

I think I've watched this kind of sport on TV before. I forgot the name of the show though. It's when they have to memorize a lot of information, and the winner will be the one who were able to write down or tell all the information that was posted before.

There are lot of events listed by the IAM (which is the WCA of memory world). The most popular events are speedcards and spoken numbers.

I personally think multiblind is a really good memory sport as it has a bit more challenge where we also have to memorise, but also trace the cube, and execute each cube using algorithms. Its much harder than doing say cards 1 hour.

MBLD is the closest thing in cubing that resembles what an actual memory event looks like, F R' D F' M' F' M F2 D' R F'.
