Heya. I live in northern Louisiana, and it's seemingly a bit of a dead zone for cubing. Because of that, I'm considering starting up a club at my high school to garner more attention to the hobby. My aim's to make at least a small community for it so that I'm not as much of an odd one out, but I don't think people are going to be all too interested considering there are no organizations or competitions within four hours of drive time. Does anyone else who's started a cubing club of any sort have any tips for building interest? General tips would also be appreciated.

Maybe you could teach your friends first, and when they are comfortable, they can help you out

If you teach a few friends that may be interested then they can go teach more people.

Id recommend having the instructions up on the board, and if you can teach people how to do it.

Probably once you have 2 or 3 other people that can solve this will be effective and you can gather all of the people that want to learn how to solve the cube.

I find that a lot of people seem to lose interest after they find out that they will have to memorize algorithms ;). However, if you even get a couple other cubers it will still be enjoyable to hang out and cube even though your group isn't as big.
