I was thinking of setting up another competition in Florida sometime during the spring and wanted to see about how many people would be interested in coming to compete. It would be in Deland about 30 mins from Daytona Beach. I am trying to make this one bigger than the last one by adding a few more events, like magic and 2x2. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Unless I have major scheduling conflicts I will be there.
You should do a winter one and a late fall one and a late winter not quite spring yet one.
I only have 2x2-5x5 so I will compete in those and hopefully by spring I will be able to BLD

Do you have a specific month in mind? I may be able to come if the I'm free that weekend.

Magic / Master Magic would be nice events to add, possibly Square-1 and the Minxes, and maybe fewest moves.

Im planning for maybe March um there things going on school wise so i need to make sure everything is secure academically.
But this is what i know for sure

Place
Stetson University. Deland, Florida

Events
2x2x2
3x3x3
4x4x4
5x5x5
3x3x3 BLD
Magic
Master Magic

It would be nice if i could do Square-1 and Megaminx but scrambles are crazy long so I will debate it. Depends on who I get as delegate. There are plenty of things that are open for discussion about the comp so please email me and spread the word. I hope this one will be even more successful than this past years. I will work on getting discounts on hotels for those of you who live farther and may need to spend a night.

Talk to you all soon,

David

Square-1 scrambles are just 25 moves long. I can scramble a square-1 without thinking, probably because I do it a bunch, but scrambling it isn't too bad. I hate when I mess up though, because I end up solving it and then rescrambling. Megaminx scrambling is the worst, but Stefan's new method looks promising. Too bad I can't figure it out.

Don't forget 3x3x3OH! Just don't put the competition on the same day as the SAT. I'll tell you when I find out when it is.

Hopefully we'll see some more Winter Park success!

I could've sworn Sq-1 was 40 moves...
