Well...just glad to announce that today is my 1 year anniversary with my first Rubik's Cube. Her name is Frankencube, and is the one I still use today. She pops about every other solve now, so she'll soon be replaced :(

wow :) i never got that close with a cube... (except for Portal's Companion cube of course)
i never used one for more than 2 months. are the stickers still all right?

2 MONTHS??? Are you serious? How can you afford to keep getting new ones? I've been using my current cube for years now....

Absolutely not. I'm missing one orange, and all the others will only last another month or so. We call it the Frankencube because the core actually broke a few months ago, so we combined the core of a really bad cube with the cubies of my other really bad cube (all except one, leaving one of my remaining orange stickers a completely different shade of orange than the others). Once they combined, Frankencube was born. I'll get a picture of it pretty soon.

I agree with Dene, 2 month is a little excessive. DIY's only get better as you use them, until they break. I hate the tedious process of sanding each indiviual pieces, washing them, drying, spraying silicon.

...you can't afford 7 dollars every 2 months?
sorry to hear that
:P

Lol, if only it cost me $7 to get a new cube...
Here, a store bought cube costs NZ$25, which is about US$20.

Buying online is a tedius process that takes a while for shipping...

Frankencube!haha, good one!sticker tip:cut your nails fairly short!it works for me...
and I don't think a storecube could last for more than one year!then you don't use it enough ;)

I generally keep my nails pretty short. I think the main deterioration of my stickers would be from me putting it in my backpack or pocket all the time at school...It rubs around on other things and knocks the stickers off. I noticed that they really started peeling and fading once I put silicone on it. Is that normal, or did I put too much on? I know you're not supposed to put it on the stickers themselves (obviously), but I couldn't really help getting a bit on them.

My cube costed me 12,5€ (13.62USD ;) ).
But you are right about that online buying.
You need a creditcard and even better a paypal account.
Patience... alot of patience... weeks to be deliverd .
I live in the wrong country to get superfast delivery :D
