Am I improving or just "in the zone"?

Okay so 6 days ago (the 11th) I hadn't cubed in about 3 days, and then I started out rusty but after about 150 solves I broke my PB single, mo3, ao5, ao12, and ao100.

My PB single stood for 2 months before that day and I managed to break it 3 times that one day. Surely it was a one time thing, some days I feel great but never had I had a day like that.

Yesterday I was pretty average, or even below average (recent session averages were around 12.6, yesterday was 12.7)

And then today I did it again. After putting a secure stop to breaking my single with 3 breaks in one day, I managed to break it by even more today and it wasn't a lucky solve.

Not only that, I managed to break my PB average of 5 twice at different times (2 completely different averages).
I also broke my PB average of 12 twice in 22 solves (solves #1-12, #11-22).
Then my average of 100 got broken as well.

I got consecutive sub-10s today again, so I checked my mean of 3 and I did indeed beat my old one.

Personal records broken today:

Single: 8.47 -> 8.03
Mo3: 9.86 -> 9.12
Ao5: 10.76 -> 10.66 -> 10.23
Ao12: 11.54 -> 11.41 -> 11.33
Ao100: 12.46 -> 12.41

Something like this has never happened to me before, twice. And the fact that it happens more often, more days are feeling similar to this, makes me think I'm actually just having a sudden spurt of actual improvement.

I would say both. Usually when I get into the zone of PB breaking solves, when I leave and come back to "normal" solves they are slightly faster than before. Not sure if that applies at your speed though.

Hard to say when one is constantly improving. I think the final answer to that is somewhat subjective. Maybe that's partially dependent on your personality type, whether you're optimistic or pessimistic, whether you are a perfectionist or not, etc.

Mhm... I'll just go with 16.50 because two averages of 100 is close to that.

Yeah, I'd probably say I average 16-17 and somewhere around there. I make that partly based on how I feel with certain times.
sub-14 really happy
14-15 happy
15-16 ok nice
16-17 ok
17-18 mehhh
18-19 ewww
sup-19 something's wrong with me

i average 12.6

<9 - very rare for me
<10 - few times per day only, very happy with them
<11 - great solve, do more of these please
<12 - very good, keep it up these are great i can keep doing these no problem
<13 - average
<14 - not bad, but i can do better
<15 - argh don't let this happen too often!
<16 - wtf just happened why am i doing this
>16 - lol no just no

im not too much of a perfectionist in cubing cause i still want to remain optimistic. my goal every session/average is to get sub-14 and i achieve it every time LOL.

I am new to speed cubing, so I'm not very fast; although I am getting a faster cube. I'm only using a store-bought at the moment :(
<1.00 FINALLY GOT SUB-1.00! (never happened. Yet.)
<1.10 Right you just got lucky. Don't get your hopes up.
<1.20 Good job!
<1.30 Yay! Decent time :)
<1.40 Still decent
<1.50 Pull yourself together mate
>2.00 *throws cube at wall, runs over and stamps on cube, goes to kitchen, turns on oven, puts in cube, put on highest temperature, says goodbye to another cube and another house*

Ditto for megaminx. Except change 1:10 to 1:15.
