im still a beginner to roux and average just sub 1min
ive been thinking about l6e and wonder if the an alternative approach is feasible. Is orienting LR pair after coll and putting them to DF and DB, then using edge orientation and permutation algs(looks like my link doesnt work)generally efficient?

Kirjava, I just noticed your average from Bristol. Congrats on pulling ahead of Gilles. It made me wonder, do you know any Roux users that are faster than you in Avg of 5?

Seriously, the traditional approach to LSE is very fast.

By all means, learn ELL in case you get a DF+DB skip, but I would recommend getting comfortable (i.e. can be done with no pauses) with the normal approach first.

I assume that you're asking because you find an aspect of the normal approach difficult? Like EO?

ok so what your saying is:

you want to EO one pair, then put them in DF and DB then EO the rest and then permute them with algs?

I think your thinking of 2Look LSE

what you want to do is position the UL/UR edge in the DB/DF place, then EO them with one of 16? algs, then permute them intuitivley

that way is OK, however why learn algs? That defeats the purpose of a block building method.

Only learn algs for the difficult cases like the all 6 edges unoriented, then there is either Rainbow mans alg which is:
RU'r'U'M'UrUr'

im thinking of maybe orienting and putting l and r pieces on the bottom
and then orienting and permuting all other edges in one alg such that a M2 would line ip the bottom LR pieces with their respective centres on top

just an idea though

harder recog, higher movecount

keep trying though ;)
